Kalbarri Kid Development Next Stages

This true WA 20-minute short documentary examines the story of Tony Mourtiz, a battler born in Hyden, who later in life established a cherished tourist Horse Ranch in the coastal town of Kalbarri. This observational documentary began as a proof-of-concept, and has already begun to resonate with audiences having been selected for three festivals and regional screenings in WA. Now, we’re ready to expand this story and we’re seeking partners who are motivated by creating positive change. The feature film will expand on the film's themes of masculinity, family, and finding peace navigated by a father and son's complicated relationship as they deal with generational trauma. Never truly able to reconcile with his father's brutality and transgressions, Tony is condemned to repeat them with his own sons.
